5 Ways to Take Action Today for Busy Women

In the mad, crazy hustle and bustle of daily life, it’s really common for women to find themselves lost in a sea of work/family/life commitments & responsibilities. In this whirlwind, our wellness often takes a back seat, but this blog is here to inspire you to reclaim your time, shift your mindset and make yourself a priority.

Remember - nothing changes if nothing changes and the time is NOW to start your journey to regular self care and empowerment.

  1. Shift Your Mindset

Let’s start by changing your mindset from thinking of self-care as a luxury, to being a necessary part of our lives. You have to start thinking and believing that self-care is an absolutely essential investment, if you want to live a happy & healthy life. If you take care of yourself properly (which isn’t selfish, by the way), you open the doors to bring your best self, in all aspects of your life - whether that be at work, as a mum or a sister/friend etc.

By consciously making this shift in your mindset, you are paving the way for positive changes in your life.

2. Set Realistic Goals

With a super busy schedule, the thought of adding one more thing to your “to do” list can feel overwhelming and frustrating - especially if the list keeps on growing!

Break down your wellness goals into smaller, more manageable tasks. This could be dedicating 10 minutes to your Yoga practice every morning, or taking a mindful break mid-morning with a cup of coffee, even listening to an audio Meditation or practicing Pranayama (breathwork) during your commute would work!

Small, consistent actions build up over time, leading to bigger, more significant and transformative changes.

3. Prioritise some “Me Time”

Your calendar reflects your priorities. Take control and block out specific time slots for your well-being. Make these time slots as important as your other appointments/commitments/work meetings - make them non-negotiable!

Whether it’s a short Yoga session, a quiet 15 minutes with a book, or just a walk in the local park, make “me time” a part of your calendar, that doesn’t get overlooked.

4. Allow Imperfection

It’s called a “Yoga practice”, not a “Yoga perfect” for a reason! There’s no such thing as perfection - understand that some days your wellness routine and self-care plans might go out of the window, and that’s totally ok!

Don’t get frustrated about it, look at your calendar, review your priorities and try again tomorrow! Let go of any guilt you may be feeling around practicing self-care and making time for you.

Remember - taking imperfect action is better than waiting for that perfect moment. Celebrate all your little wins - even the tiny steps forward - acknowledge and celebrate all of them!

5. Get Support & Accountability

Share your journey with like-minded women who are facing the same challenges as you. Join local communities, online Yoga memberships or connect with friends who share your wellness goals.

Having a support system creates a sense of accountability and can motivate you. Sharing your highs and lows with a supportive community, who get it, can really help you stay on track and let you know that other women are in the same boat too!

Empowering yourself to make time for Yoga & Self-Care is a journey that starts with a mindset shift and small, conscious actions.

By reviewing your priorities, setting realistic goals, prioritising wellness in your busy schedule, embracing imperfection and connecting with a supportive community, you can break free from the cycle of neglecting your well-being.

Remember, nothing changes if nothing changes and today is the perfect day to take that first step towards a happy and healthy life, because you deserve it!
